Towns Killough Paolucci
Background and Teacher Achievements:
I am certified through the British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) with my full Member and Fellow in Highland, and my Member in National. I have been teaching full time since 2002, and my associate teaching from 1985 -1990.
I am a former Champion Highland Dancer. I represented the Southeast at the 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1988 United States Inter-regional Championships, most of those times as the Champion. I placed at each of them, and was an overall runner up in 1988. I also won numerous trophies at competitions across the country. I began dancing at the age of 6 under the instruction of Judy Hackett. After her move to Tennessee, I studied with Anne Burgin Andrews in North Carolina. My parents and I were dedicated, driving nearly 5 hours each way for weekend classes approximately once every three weeks. I retired from dancing in 1989 when I attended the University of Georgia.
Student Achievements:
My students have represented the Southeast since 2007. I had the joy of having a student (the first that I started from scratch at the age of 6, the previous coming from a teacher that relocated) being my first USIR Rep that year. In the years since I have had 4 of my students Rep, and 2 have been the Alternates. In 2010, one of my students placed 3rd overall at the USIR, guaranteeing the Southeast a bye (an extra spot) for the following year. I have also trained one teacher for her BATD Highland and National Member, which she passed Highly Commended, the highest mark. My students participate in and perform for many community events such as Burns Club programs, Retirement Community displays, Youth Bagpipe Ensemble concerts, Coca Cola events, Girl Scout programs, Church events, etc.

United States Inter-Regional Championships 2nd Runner Up and 5th Runner Up

Class Information:
I teach classes three times a week. Many of my students attend all three classes with some only attending two per week. Classes are held at my home studio at 455 Amberidge Trail, Atlanta, Georgia, 30328. I enjoy giving individual attention so classes are kept to a maximum of 6 students per class. We are a small, but dedicated and lively, school with 12 students. Some are competitive and some prefer dancing at shows and exhibitions.
